What is a Twitter Chat?
You may not be familiar with Twitter chats, even though they’ve been around for a very long time.
“A Twitter chat is a public Twitter conversation around one unique hashtag. This hashtag allows you to follow the discussion and participate in it. Twitter chats are usually recurring and on specific topics to regularly connect people with these interests.” – Social Media Examiner
Twitter users connect using whatever the particular Twitter Chat hashtag is.
It is time for Market Researchers to get on board!
How A Twitter Chat Works:
1. Hosts will post a greeting and brief friendly intro of guests joining.
2. The host will post a question every 6-10 minutes using this sort of text: “Q1: How can Researchers…?”. Changing to Q2, Q3, etc as they ask questions.
3. Guests will then provide their point of view along with the rest of the community using #MRxChat. It is critical you include the #MRxChat on all tweets or they will not appear in the hashtag feed.
Why Join #MRxChat?
So, why should you participate in #MRxChat? Consider this:
That’s right! Nearly 10,000 impressions per post! Also, these impressions are organically fed into other researchers’ feeds.
Don’t use Twitter? No worries. Take a few minutes and review Jake’s recent post: Using Twitter to create your personal brand.
On the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 5pm London Time (11am Pacific Standard Time) our chat will start.
